SUGAR LAND CELEBRATES HOLIDAY SEASON WITH 4TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING IN TOWN SQUARE

SUGAR LAND, TX (Nov. 15, 2006) – The City of Sugar Land will kick off the holiday season at its fourth annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, November 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Sugar Land Town Square.

Festivities surrounding the Christmas tree lighting will begin at 5 p.m. and feature three entertainment stages where local song and dance performers, including Sugar Land Superstar Shannon Loucks, will entertain attendees. Food will be provided for purchase by local favorites P.F. Chang’s, Pappa La Rosa Flying Pizza and Chick-fil-A.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., the Christmas tree lighting ceremony will begin and Sugar Land Mayor David Wallace will set the 40-foot holiday tree aglow with more than 9,000 twinkling lights. In addition, Santa Claus will make a spectacular entrance into the Plaza.

The event is free and open to the public. In addition to Town Square’s on site parking, a free shuttle service will run throughout the event from the parking lots of Mercer Stadium, First Colony Mall and Town Center.
